Pinkglow® pineapples grow on a select farm in the South-Central region of Costa Rica, which has the ideal soil and climate for growing pineapples. Can I get a pink pineapple anywhere else? Its seasonality also makes asparagus more expensive than other vegetables, and the flavor will vary based on where it's grown. Whether simply steamed, grilled, roasted, or incorporated into a recipe, asparagus brings the taste of green freshness to the table.

Hami melons are large, averaging 20 to 30 centimeters in length and 12 to 16 centimeters in diameter, and have an oblong shape with elongated, blunt, and curved ends. There are many different varieties of Hami melons appearing in slightly different sizes and shapes, generally weighing between 6 to 11 pounds. The rind is thick, hard, and found in shades of golden yellow, salmon, green, brown, to yellow with green streaks, depending on the cultivar. The rind also exhibits unique textural elements such as netting, rough patches, cracks, or being completely smooth. Underneath the surface, the flesh is dense, semi-aqueous, and firm, ranging in color from orange, coral, yellow to white. There is also a large central cavity filled with stringy fibers and oval, cream-colored seeds. Hami melons are known for their firm, crunchy, and succulent texture and fragrant floral aroma, released when the fruit reaches peak maturity. When selecting Hami melons, they should feel heavy for their size and have some give when pressed near the stem end. The melons also contain a high sugar content, creating a refreshing, sweet, and fruity flavor with tropical and honeyed nuance!

Skagit Valley Leeks Available Now! Ralph's Greenhouse is a family farm located on a bend of the Skagit River in northwestern Washington's Skagit Valley. The de Vries family moved from The Netherlands in the late 1950's, and from 1960-1980 Ralph had a dairy farm. When he retired in 1980 he started a garden next to the dairy farm called Ralph's Greenhouse where he grew leeks for the market and Dutch potatoes for his Dutch friends. Ralph didn’t use herbicides, pesticides, or artificial fertilizer because, he said, "We didn't use them in the Old Country!" In 1988 the retirement project got to be too much for him, and he asked his son Ray if he could help a little. This started Ray's involvement in the farming business. Since then the business has expanded a bit and today the farm grows kale, chard, collards, beets, carrots, fennel, parsnips, spinach, fingerling potatoes, and lots of leeks.
