It goes without saying, food safety is more important than ever during the global pandemic. At each United Salad facility, we go far beyond what is standard safety practice. Our goal is to keep customers, employees, and our community as safe as possible.

Stringent Safety Programs

We have developed and implemented one of the most stringent food safety programs in the produce industry. In addition to our strict HACCP program, all our facilities are distinguished as SQF-certified facilities, the highest certification available in our industry.

Constant microbial inspection and thorough employee training programs ensure that our products are fresh, clean, and safe. Our in-house and independent product and environmental tests are in full compliance with FDA, ODA, and the EPA.

Well Grounded in Health and Safety

Food safety begins in the field. We monitor our produce continually and only accept product from farmers and suppliers that uphold our standards and maintain an unbroken cold chain, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Our facilities operate under the FDA, USDA regulations, and an HACCP based quality system that is independently audited by third party institutions following the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)—Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards.

Under these rigorous standards, we maintain many pre-requisite food safety programs. We validate the success of our efforts through internal and external audit processes recognized by Global Standards.

In short, we’re among the safest food suppliers on the planet.
